Lake Natomas Day with Bruceville Point

Forging friendships—new and old—with our sister community

Residents and team members enjoyed the view and waterfowl on Lake Natomas.

Lake Natomas sometimes feels like the heart of our community here in Folsom. It’s hard to imagine a time when it didn’t exist.

We especially look forward to our annual Lake Day when we invite our sister community, Bruceville Point in Elk Grove, to join us for outdoor adventures.

Residents and team members from Bruceville Point and Prairie City Landing enjoyed sunny skies, scenic views, and lots of fun!

We’ll remember this year’s Lake Day for the warm sunshine, the joy of new friendships forged and old ones rekindled, the goslings waddling after their parents, and so much laughter that people stopped to ask about all the fun we were having.

Playing with the bubble machine helped create a festive atmosphere.

“We’ve received nothing but great feedback,” Toni Glenn, the Events and Adventures Director at Prairie City Landing, said.

Jason Cherry, the Fitness Director at Prairie City Landing, gathered everyone to start with a fitness class. With everyone moving together, people felt a sense of connection immediately.

Jason’s fitness classes always bring people together…and the lake view made for an ideal setting.

A BBQ lunch, complete with burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixings, along with contributions of potato salad and delicious brownies and cookies from Bruceville Point’s culinary team, ensured that everyone had the energy to engage in all the fun options.

Traditional picnic fare was enjoyed by all—and many hands made light work, with residents volunteering to help serve.

Some people took a nature walk, while others played an oversized Connect Four game. Two games of cornhole made for some intense competition. And water guns, water balloons, and the option of paddleboarding helped everyone stay cool!

There was no shortage of fun options to enjoy the day at the lake.

“We really did have fun getting together,” Toni said of the event. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

If you’d like to join in the fun, our Counselors would be happy to invite you!
